The Longest Day of the Year

The longest day of the year is NOT on the summer solstice as many people believe, at least for us it's not.  In our DINK days (double income no kids) we would look forward to the "fall back" time change of daylight savings like everyone else.  Oh yes!  That blessed extra hour of sleep.  But now it is just and extra hour of time, not sleep, because the kids are not yet at the age where they value extra sleep and their little bodies just wake up after "x" number of hours no matter what the clock says.  After seven years of grunting and groaning when the kids came traipsing in at 5:00am, we decided to just roll with it this year and do something fun.  Our new fall daylight savings tradition is...
