End of Summer in Durango

In the summertime DMR has a rock climbing wall, bouncers, the alpine slide, and the kids' favorite, ROCK MINING.  They each bought a big back of dirt which they sifted through using running water and pans to find "valuable" gems and minerals.  The babies just enjoyed the splashing!

Seeing Aunt Anne when we head up to Durango is always a nice bonus.

Discovering Fenton Lake

Kevin and Jill provided a fantastic lunch for us up at Fenton Lake in the Jemez mountains.  All we had to do was show up and they took care of everything...hotdogs, burgers, chips, drinks, even s'mores for dessert!

Don't know what these two are always off whispering about, but they sure are cute cousins.

Baby "jail" didn't last too long, but the twins were troopers all day long.  The played with sticks, ate dirt, threw dirt, ate rocks, threw rocks...you get the picture.  They had fun and showed us how they could stand up all by themselves! (pictured in another post)

Uncle Kevin took all of the kids out on the canoe before the weather turned nasty.  They loved it and were very unhappy when the thunder went from a distant rumble to close, LOUD booms!

We eventually had to run for cover, but it was a great afternoon.

2010 Summer Fun: 3rd Edition

The kids organized a neighborhood parade with the Kaplans.  Costumes, floats, decorations.  They even tossed candy to neighbors that came outside to see the spectacle.

Thomas and Connor built the tallest Lego tower EVER...all the way to the ceiling!

The babies LOVE climbing and sliding on this little structure.  Funny how all of the sudden the big kids love it too when they see the little kids on it.
