The Final Days of Summer, What Fun We Had

Imagine the looks THIS group received as we boarded the train to Santa Fe!  The Santa Fe growers market has become one of our favorite destinations.  There is also a park nearby and this time, the kids discovered the water!  Thankfully, it was a hot day and everyone dried quickly.  The kids bought goat cheese, bread and honey from some of the vendos

THE ONLY THING THAT GREW OUT OF MY PITIFUL ATTEMPT AT GARDENING THIS SUMMER...OH WELL, WE'LL TRY HARDER NEXT SUMMER.

KIDS AND BRIAN HAD FUN REPAIRING GRANDMA/GRANDPA'S OLD GO CART.  HOURS OF FUN!

THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY...THE ONE THAT ALWAYS GETS AWAY!  RONAN WENT UP THE STAIRS WITHOUT US, AND IT WASN'T UNTIL THE PEOPLE BEHIND US SAID, "I THINK YOU ARE MISSING ONE," THAT WE NOTICED!  NONE OF MY KIDS SEEM TO HAVE A NATURAL SENSE OF FEAR, THAT HEALTHY FEAR THAT USUALLY HELPS TO KEEP ONE SAFE.  I AM SURE THIS WILL SERVE THEM WELL LATER ON, BUT RIGHT NOW IT IS CAUSING ME TO HAVE REGULAR PANIC ATTACKS!

3rd, 1st and Pee Wee

First day of school, fall 2011.  We have a third grader in Mrs. Everist's class, a first grader in Mrs. Robinson's class and a Pee Wee with Ms. Evangela and Ms. Helen!  

 Dad delivered Thomas and Lauren to their classrooms on the first day while I headed to the pre-k room with Connor.

 So excited to be at school with his big brother and sister!

 Connor liked the giant abacus in the Pee Wee room!  After saying a sweet goodbye to Ro, he was off and playing again.

Sports, Sports and More Sports!

We had a sports filled summer! Here's a look back at the action.  Connor had basketball and soccer lessons. Lauren and Thomas participated in two sessions of tennis and swim team.  Claire and Ronan tagged along and enjoyed their current sport of choice...running away from ME!

TORTELLINI AND OTHER CREATURES

Our beloved turtle, Tortellini returned again at the end of the summer.  The kids and I are always delighted to see this little guy.  Lauren got a little too friendly with him this year and he bit her finger instead of a grape she was trying to feed him.  Live and learn.

 I can't believe these are MY kids touching the creepy crawlies!  I guess I am glad that I have not handed down my absolute loathing of  these types of creatures...except for the birds, I like the pretty birds!
