A look back...way back...to June!

Trying to catch up on the blog.  Thought I would start at the beginning of the school year, but in going back through pictures I realized there is A LOT more that I missed!  Some of you know I used to make scrapbooks...that is definitely a thing of the past, so I now use the blog to document everything.  I am only mentioning this to our very few regular "readers"  so that you will bear with me if the pictures seem to go on forever. The first event I came across in the digital photo archives was our annual trip to Durango for Thomas the Train.  I thought, "Surely I blogged about that!  It was so much fun!"  Alas, I did not.  So here it is!

Where have the last three months gone?!!  Well, here's where...

Building a leprechaun trap,

 Entering the Young In Art contest at school,

 Cheering on the Lobo basketball team,

 Hanging out at the zoo on St. Patrick's Day, a tradition that we revived this year,

 Celebrating Lauren's 6th birthday with tea at the St. James with all of her Grandmothers,

 Laughing as Thomas tries to master the pogo stick on his 8th birthday,

 Growing and growing...,

 Visiting with Pablo and Maggie,

 Trying to feed ourselves, some of us are better at it than others,

 Racing in the preschool trike-a-thon,

 Spending Easter in Phoenix, including a trip to the Ferrari dealership, the zoo, the pool and a very "special" brunch,

 Road tripping to the Grand Canyon,

 Starting the next "generation" playgroup,

 Running for the Zoo,

 Rooting for the Isotopes,

 Graduation from Kindergarten,

 Performing in an ballet receital,

 And working in some soccer on the weekends!

Wow, I have to go take a nap now...yeah right, like that's going to happen.

February in Review

No actual Valentine pictures this month, but we did spend lots of time loving each other this February.  On the actual "day of hearts" we shared a heart-shaped pizza and exchanged cards.  Here's a little snippet of the other things we've been up to.

Congratulations Thomas!!!  Receiving the sacrament of Reconciliation is a big deal, and we are so very proud of him.  I thought it was hilarious that Thomas thought he didn't have enough sins to tell the priest...I told him I sure hope he didn't have too long of a list!

Lauren "looney tune" McCarthy lost her very first tooth!!  Isn't it funny how big the gap is from such a tiny tooth?  Unlike Thomas, she was more than willing to give her tooth up to the fairy in exchange for some cash!

When it finally warmed up this month we ventured out to "the beach" at the river to the north of our house.  Claire and Ro thought it was great to toss rocks into the water and watch the splash and hear the "plunk".  Eventually Ronan tried to go swimming with Clio (the dog) and that was the end of that.  Lauren wanted to track coyotes, Connor wanted to play in the mud, and Thomas spent most of his time alternating between the coyote hunt and worrying that Brian and I were tossing the sticks too far out for Clio and that she was going to drown.  My son the worrier...hmmm...where does he get that?

Brian coached Thomas and Lauren (and several of their friends) in their first attempt at basketball!  It was a 1st/2nd grade team through the Corrales Rec Center, Lauren was allowed to play since her dad was coaching.  Brian set two goals for the team at the beginning of the season:  Have fun, and learn about the sport.  I'd say mission accomplished!  I think every kid had a good time and improved over the eight weeks.  We sure enjoyed spending time with the wonderful families that were a part of the team.  Go Rockets!
